Viral sensations Atlantic Rhythm Productions launch brand new summer show – “Tradbeats”

North Mayo production company Atlantic Rhythm Productions is preparing to launch a brand new summer show that is set to take Mayo by storm. “Tradbeats”, a fully choreographed contemporary show featuring seven talented musicians and 14 champion Irish dancers will take place in Ballina Arts Centre on Wednesday July 18th and Wednesday August 8th 2018, and is expected to attract significant interest from visitors and locals alike at the height of the tourist season.

Tradbeats will showcase the very best of North Mayo’s traditional Irish music talent, and the show is composed and choreographed in its entirety by its young and vibrant cast of performers.

The dance troupe will be led by world champion Irish dancers Lisa Lavelle, Stephen Gallagher and Cian Lavelle, accompanied by 11 other champion Irish dancers. Lisa and Stephen recently appeared on RTE’s Ray D’Arcy Show on Saturday 28th October to share the tale of how a recent performance of “The Mayo Beat” at a fundraiser for Rock House House in Castlebar went viral, and has been watched over two million times to date online. Other members of Atlantic Rhythm Productions are no strangers to the spotlight either, having featured on the Late Late Toy Show in 2016 and reached the final of TG4’s ‘An Ríl Deal’ earlier this year.

The musicians are led by Kyle Hampson, Matthew Dillane and Rachel & Louise Sheridan, all of whom are transition year students. Joining Atlantic Rhythm for the show will also be singer Saoirse Gallagher from Islandeady.

Sheila Moffatt, Director of Atlantic Rhythm said “Our group of incredibly talented musicians and dancers is working extremely hard on this brand new show, which promises to be an unmissable night of traditional musical entertainment. It’s a fresh show featuring a young and enthusiastic cast, and the very best of local talent, and we’re really excited about sharing their talents with the people of Mayo in this ground-breaking new performance.”

Local tourism providers are invited to a short preview of the event in Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday 9th November at 7.30pm, and the official launch of the show will take place on Saturday 10th February at 7.30pm in Ballina Arts Centre.  Tickets for the show in July are priced at €15, with €10 tickets available for groups of 10 or more adults booking together.

Anne-Marie Flynn, Manager at Mayo North Promotions Office said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Sheila and the team at Atlantic Rhythm Productions to promote Tradbeats to our visitors. We know that similar shows elsewhere in Ireland have enjoyed phenomenal success and Tradbeats is a fantastic, high-quality addition to our local calendar of events that will be of significant interest to visitors to Mayo from elsewhere in Ireland and abroad. I would urge all accommodation providers in particular to come along and see the preview of the show, so that they can sell it to their visitors for 2018 as one of our major tourist offerings for this season.”

Paul Regan, President Ballina Chamber of Commerce says: “Sheila Moffatt Dance School and Atlantic Rhythm Productions have been a great support of every event and  festival in Ballina and the county during 2017 and before. They have been great ambassadors for Co Mayo travelling throughout North America and Europe and putting North Mayo on the map. We wish Sheila and her very talented crew the very best in their forthcoming preview and launch shows and all are very excited for the July and August shows in 2018, bringing another strong entertainment offering to visitors and locals.”
