Since last September, 23,600 budding entrepreneurs from 480 secondary schools have been researching, setting up and running their own enterprises, with support from their Local Enterprise Offices in local authorities. At the National Finals in Croke Park, 230 students from 77 different enterprises were competing in the biggest competition of its kind in the country. Funding for the Local Enterprise Office-run programme is provided by the Government of Ireland through Enterprise Ireland and the special guest at this year’s ceremony was the Minister for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen T.D.
